In Old Forge and its surrounding area there are so many places to fish that you will probably never be able to get to all of them. In fact, we have hundreds of remote lakes, ponds, rivers and streams for fisherman of all skill levels. Some of the more recognized fishing areas are the Moose River, the entire Fulton Chain of Lakes, Nick's Lake, Moss Lake, and Limekiln Lake. These waterways offer a large variety of species of fish including Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass, Northern Pike, and Landlocked Salmon.
Old Forge Camping Resort guests can enjoy catch and release fishing on private Lake Serene. Lake Serene is stocked with Blue Gill and Small Mouth Bass. A fishing license is not required. Worms and lures are available for sale in the Camp Store and Lake Serene Rentals.
Ice fishing in Old Forge and its surrounding areas has long been the tradition of many. An abundance of lakes and the freezing temperatures from December to March make Old Forge a prime location for locals and visitors alike to make ice fishing part of their winter recreation.
