Memorial Day weekend is coming up fast and there's plenty do to in Old Forge! This weekend tends to be the kick-off for the start of the hustle & bustle that is our Summer season; Summer residents come to open up camps, there's the Annual Adirondack Polka Fest and of course the Town Wide Garage Sale shouldn't be missed! The weather forecast says it's going to be in the mid to high 50s and after the last few muggy days, it'll be a nice change. Calypso's Cove will be debuting the brand new Zipline this weekend and then will open for the season in late June. It's a brisk, but sunny -11 outside this morning and the trails are in GOOD condition making for an excellent President's week. Right now it looks like there's a very likely chance of riding straight through til the trails close on April 1st.
As you may know in an effort to constantly improve our hotel, we have finished the renovation of another 14 rooms this year. Which means that next year's renovation will mark the finish of the remodeling for all of our double rooms. This year in addition to the rooms and the hallway of the 1st floor we have started the first part of the facelift of our front desk area, and are working on extending the hardwood floors for the Great Room straight to the lobby extrance.

Looks like Winter is here to stay! We haven't had a thaw since the 1st of the year; temperatures have been cold with snow accumulations almost everyday. It's currently about 8 degrees and sunny, but it feels much colder with the wind chill. The trails are in good shape for the weekend. Come out and support the Pink Ribbon Riders.

Wishing everyone a Safe & Happy 2011!! We started off the new year with a warm front and then plunged back into the cold. We've gotten some new snow over the past few days and more is slated for Tuesday night into Wednesday. It's currently 7 degrees with light flurries.
Snowmobile Trails are currently listed in fair to good condition, with a varying base. We urge you to ride with caution and be on the look out for rocks and downed trees.
McCauley Mountain has 14 trails open and 2 lifts running. The surface is powder and packed powder. It's shaping up to be a great season at the mountain.

Winter has arrived! We received 4 - 6 inches of snow in the last 24 hrs, with more on the way. Our 10 day forecast has snow listed for everyday! If all goes accordingly it should make a wonderful Snodeo Weekend. The snowmobile trails open for the 2010/2011 season on Monday December 6th. Click here for updated trail conditions. Fall has come and gone and Winter is quickly approaching! We have had scattered snow showers here the past few days, with snow forcasted throughout the week. An Adirondack Christmas on Main St starts the weekend of November 26th, come visit us and celebrate the holiday season with friends and family.

It's been busy, warm and crazy summer this year; even though the Summer season is winding down there is still time to save with our Summer Stay 'N Play, which can be booked mid-week until September 2nd.

It's been a hot, booming Summer here in the Adirondacks! With temperatures well above our normal averages and very little rain it's been an extraordinary season so far.
This Saturday is the inaugural event of the McCauley Mountain Music Fest. The festival will feature a mix of bands as well as music from around New York State and our local area. Two stages will allow the music to continue nonstop all day long. The tickets are $35, and can be purchased on the event's website or in town at Souvenir Village.

Father's Day Weekend June 18 - 20
Saturday: 13th Annual Father's Day Weekend Car Show - Cash prizes to two best of show winners (antique/classic and modified street rod), dash plaques to first 100 entrants. First, second and third place trophies in 20 classes. Gates open at 9am, judging starts at noon, prizes and trophies awarded at 3pm. Also auto-related vendors and swap meet, food and beverages available.
Sunday: Annual Father's Day Frog Jump - Children can bring their champion frog to win prizes and fathers should wear their most outrageous tie! Largest, smallest, and longest jumper. Great family fun! Don't worry, all frogs are released unharmed.
